Brian Cleverley
A man who allegedly pulled out a gun to settle a dispute is facing charges of aggravated assault.
Brian Cleverley, 39, was arrested on Monday after the altercation and was found to have a loaded 9mm handgun in his possession.
He told authorities that he and another motorist had gotten into a road rage fight at a Rite Aide on East Brainerd Road after something that happened on the interstate.
When interviewed, the victim alleged that Cleverley approached him in the parking lot, pistol in hand, and chambered a round.
He told officers that Cleverley put the gun to his face saying, “Do you really want to do this? I’ll blow your brains out.”
A video showing the altercation confirmed to police that the defendant did approach the victim with a handgun, though the other actions described could not be seen clearly.
Another witness also said that the two men engaged in a physical fight over the handgun, resulting in a cut on the victim’s eye.
Cleverley’s bond has been set at $15,000.
