Max Edwin Coffey, 84, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015 in a Chattanooga hospital.
He was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church, a retiree of Bowater, and a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by parents, Clifford Monroe Coffey and Nettie Lou Woody Coffey; four brothers, Howard Coffey, DuVaughn Coffey, Cledis Coffey and Franklin Coffey; daughter, Lori Maxine Coffey; and grandson, Brett Williams.
He is survived by his loving wife, Loray Burrell Coffey; two children, Ed Coffey and wife Jan of Ooltewah and Vickie Williams and husband Billy of Chattanooga; two grandchildren, Adam Coffey of Ooltewah and Joanna Borunda and husband Patrick of Seattle, WA; two great grandchildren, Maya and Aine Coffey; one sister, Francine Haney; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, July 6, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Evans officiating.
Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Monday, July 6 at the Ralph Buckner Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
