“Shoot For The Soldiers” To Be Held At Montgomery County Shooting Complex

  • Friday, July 31, 2015

“Shoot for the Soldiers,” a sporting clays event, will be held Saturday, Aug. 29 at the Montgomery County Shooting Complex.

Proceeds from the event will go directly to Tennessee soldiers and their families or to the Moment of Freedom campaign. A portion will go to funding scholarships of soldiers from HOOAH (Healing Outside of a Hospital) while the remainder will go making outdoor recreational opportunities for wounded soldiers and their families.

“Shoot for the Soldiers” will use a five-person team format.

Teams may consist of male, female, youth, pro class, beginners or a combination. Scoring will be handled by a sporting clays professional.

To participate in the event, the cost will be $100 for an individual who also includes breakfast and lunch. For a youth-only shooting team, the cost is $250 for a 5-person team. Other levels of sponsorships are available.

In addition to the shooting competition, there will be a silent auction and fun games. Ammunition will not be furnished, but may be purchased at the event.

The Montgomery County Shooting Complex is operated by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Foundation. For more information, contact Donald Hosse, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Outreach program coordinator at 615 308-8115 or Phil Hill, TVA Veterans coordinator at 615 440-6802. Applications are available on the TWRA website and from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Foundation.
