Capture 2015 Opens Official Call For Film Editors And Musicians

Capture is now looking for those editors and musicians that will turn crowdsourced footage into works of art. 

AVA, in Chattanooga, KC Digital Drive and the Kansas City Film Society are collaborating on a milestone event, Capture: A Community Filmmaking Project, to be held Sept. 18-20. For the first time, a crowd-sourced film project will happen simultaneously in two cities in two different states. 

Editors and musicians who wish to be considered for creative teams can fill out applications at: http://www.capturefilmproject.org/editors-musicians 

The deadline for submitting team applications is Sunday, Aug. 30, at 10 p.m.

The official 2015 call is now live. Film editors and musicians living and working in Chattanooga and Kansas City are encouraged to submit their info and work samples. 

Submissions will be reviewed on Tuesday, Sept. 1.  Teams will be notified and confirmed on Wednesday, Sept/ 2. 

Organizers are encouraging film editors, whether professionals or serious enthusiasts, to submit their information and examples of their work at the Capture website. Film editors are encouraged to submit having at least two editors on a team. It's a 48-hour competition working with hundreds of pieces of community submitted footage and teams are recommended. 

Musicians, whether soloists, composers, or bands, are encouraged to submit while keeping in mind that they will be required to create and record, an original composition within 48 hours. Additionally, the musicians selected for the project will also perform a live, onstage set during the Capture Premiere Event on Sunday, Sept. 20, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Recording studio time will be provided to the selected musicians and/or bands.  

Editors will receive $600 in compensation per group and musicians will receive $800 in compensation per group. 

Awards will be given for Guest Juror Awarded Best In Show: $800, a shared prize with the entire awarded team of both editors and musicians and People's Choice: $600, a shared prize with the entire awarded team of both editors and musicians.
