Lucille Lewis, 101, of Pikeville, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015, with her family by her side.
She was of the Church of God faith and was a charter member of Shady Vale Church of God. Lucille enjoyed making quilts for her family and sewing. Other hobbies were gardening and spending time with her many grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dudley Lewis; parents, George Washington and Rosie Emaline Pearson Boston; sisters, Venia Smith and Novella Smith White; brothers, Willis, Wheeler, Garland and Leroy Boston; and three great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Jeanette Thurman, Pikeville, Helen (Vance) Crawford, Michigan, Gwendolyn (Billy) Brom, Crossville, Gordon (Betty) Lewis, Michigan, Brenda (Claude) Hall, Knoxville and and Beverly Loyd, Crossville; grandchildren and spouses, Karen and Carl Reed, Pikeville, Steve and Margaret Thurman, Pikeville, Mike and Claudet Crawford, Michigan, Don and Lenea Crawford, Michigan, Michele and Ronnie Angel, Pikeville, Simone and Bob Wint, Georgia Debbie and Ken Godfrey, Michigan, David Brom, Michigan, Marla and Wendell Neubaum, Michigan, Marcia Johnson, Michigan, Jim and Cheryl Lewis, Pikeville, Keith and Carrie Lewis, Michigan, Nick Hall, California, Stefanie and James Wilson, South Carolina, Steven and Pamela Loyd, Crossville, Brian Loyd, Pikeville and Jessica and Zack Reed, Crossville; 35 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Chris (Mary) Boston, Washington and Kenneth Boston, Sale Creek; several extended family members, nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Lucille’s life will be held Sunday, July 5 at 2 p.m. CDT. with Bishop Kenneth Bolton, Bishop Donnie Lawson, and Bro. Doyle Ashburn officiating. Burial will be in McDowell Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors Friday, July 3 from 6-9 p.m., Saturday, July 4 from 5-8 p.m. and Sunday, July 5 from 8 a.m. until service time.
