Non-Custodial Father Who Picked Up Children At Chattanooga Daycare Is Caught In Ohio

A non-custodial father who picked up his children at a Chattanooga daycare and headed north has been caught in Ohio.

Tony Thomas and the children have been located in Toledo.

Thomas is in custody in Lucas County and awaiting extradition.

The children were unharmed and will be in Child Protective Services custody until the mother is able to pick them up.

At approximately 5:10 p.m.

Thursday, police responded to 1009 Sheridan Ave. at the Tender Loving Care Academy for a custodial kidnapping.

Officers were told that Thomas, the father of Isaiha Thomas Kitchens, 3, and Joseph Darrell Kitchens, 1, picked up the children without the mother’s consent.

Thomas left in a gray SUV with a temporary Michigan plate and was last seen heading toward Wilcox Boulevard with the children.
