Susan Newton
Susan Dodd Newton, 67, of Chattanooga, died on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 in a local hospital.
She was born Oct. 12, 1947, in Chattanooga to the late James and Mary Sue Dodd.
Mrs. Newton was raised at Lookout Mountain Baptist Church. She was formerly employed with Anna Ball White for 10 years; and most recently with Belk Fine Jewelry also for 10 years.
Her husband of 41 years, David E. Newton preceded her in death.
Survivors include her loving daughter and son-in-law, Melanie Ann Newton and Christopher Spear; sister, Julie Dodd Laster; and several nieces and nephews along with many extended family members.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 31, from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 1, from 12:30–1:45 p.m. at the North Chapel.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1, at 2 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Pastor Bill Henry officiating.
