Chattanooga Police Department's Citizens' Police Academy Accepting Applications For Sept. Class

  • Wednesday, July 29, 2015

The Chattanooga Police Department’s Office of Community Outreach is once again holding its Citizens’ Police Academy and is currently accepting applications.

The eight week course gives citizens a glimpse into how the Chattanooga Police Department does its job.  Instructors from CPD teach each class, one night a week, covering a variety of topics including narcotics, homicide investigation, patrol, and the SWAT team.  In addition to learning about the department, the Academy provides an opportunity to meet people from all of the  communities and neighborhoods that make up Chattanooga.

The Citizens’ Academy begins Sept. 10.  To sign up for the Chattanooga Police Department’s Citizens’ Police Academy, contact Sergeant Wayne Jefferson at 643-5090 or email the Sergeant at: jefferson_wa@chattanooga.gov.

There are 35 seats available for the September class.

All applications must be returned to the Office of Community Outreach no later than Aug. 27.
