Bill Bennett's Retirement Is A Loss For Hamilton County

  • Monday, July 27, 2015

Bill Bennett’s decision not to run for re-election is truly a loss to our county.  He has dedicated 35 years of his life to very capably serving the citizens of Hamilton County.

Having worked with Bill for several years as we formed a business partnership together after the companies we worked for closed and moved to another state, I had the unique opportunity to witness his work ethic and dedication to those he served.  I saw his willingness to sacrifice.  We both worked one full year without a salary to get our newly formed agency established.  When he moved to the Assessor’s Office I witnessed his commitment to fulfill the duties and purpose of that office which his constituents elected him to.

More than likely several candidates will step forward to seek that office in the March 2016 election. One who has expressed an interest in serving is Sterling Jetton who has worked 27 years in that office.  With the efficient office and capable staff that Bill Bennett has put in place he will be leaving a foundation on which his successor can build.

Thank you Bill for 35 years of devoted service.
