A few professional florists as well as several community volunteers from Salvation Army's Flowers of Hope program and the Highland Park Neighborhood Association gathered at the Highland Park Community Center and arranged 400 bouquets to honor Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Smith at tomorrow's service at the National Cemetery.

Our city received an anonymous donation of 3,000 roses from New York City for Sgt. David Wyatt’s funeral service. Nancy Wauer and Paula Dunlap, both from Chattanooga, felt strongly that Officer Smith should be honored with a similar floral recognition as Staff Sgt. David Wyatt. They reached out to Costco of Fort Oglethorpe for help.  Costco donated 1200 stems of fresh flowers and were overjoyed at the opportunity to give.

The bouquets will be handed out at the National Cemetery to friends, family and citizens who come to pay tribute to this fallen hero.
