TN Promise students must complete eight hours of community service by Aug. 1 in order to keep their TN Promise scholarship.
Chattanooga State Community College held a campus clean up day to help students meet their goal. Approximately 60 students took advantage of this opportunity to scratch off the last requirement needed to keep their scholarships.
Although the weather was humid and over 90 degrees, students were out in the early morning hours to help spread mulch as grounds supervisors stood by with plenty of water to make sure they were well-hydrated. Other students volunteered to help assemble orientation packets and still others volunteered to help clean up wherever it was needed. One student volunteered her time to help recruit other volunteers for Habitat for Humanity during Chattanooga State’s Community Fair. Lunch was served to all students who volunteered.
