Gail Phillips Of Chattanooga Elected Tennessee State PTA President

The Tennessee PTA has elected Gail Phillips of Chattanooga to serve as the president of the Tennessee Congress of Parents and Teachers Association. 

Ms. Phillips passion and journey began when her children started kindergarten at McBrien Elementary School in East Ridge. She has served in local, council, and state level positions throughout her PTA journey. She received the Tennessee PTA Life Membership Award in 1996 and the National PTA Membership Award in 1999. The East Ridge High School Parental Involvement Award began in 2003 in honor of Ms. Phillips. This award is given to the parent of a graduating senior each year to recognize their service to the school. 

Ms. Phillips states that “Today’s PTA will continue to be a strong voice for the children. We advocate for the education and well-being of every child. Our children may only be 25 percent of the present, but they are 100 percent of our future.”
