Ongoing

Townsend – Catch the traveling exhibit Qualla Arts and Crafts: Tradition and Innovation through November in the Proffitt’s Gallery at the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center.

Jonesborough – See the contemporary quilts on exhibit from 24 guild members who used “Fiesta” fabric for each quilt on display through July 31 at the McKinney Center.

Nashville – Take $12 off tickets to Nashville’s Nutcracker with the code XMASJULY for the entire month of July through the Nashville Ballet.

The holiday classic will be performed for 13 performances Dec. 5-23 in the Tennessee Performing Arts Center’s Andrew Jackson Hall.

Covington – The Court Square Farmers Market is officially open 8 a.m. Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays in Covington.

Monteagle – Enjoy Music on the Mountain 7-10 p.m. every Friday and Saturday night at The Smokehouse on top of Monteagle Mountain off I-24. The event is free and open to the public.

July 17

Memphis – “Stax: Visions of the Soul” will feature contemporary artwork inspired by Stax Records songs and will open 6 p.m. with light refreshments at Stax Museum of American Soul Music.

Bristol – Border Bash, Bristol’s premier downtown street party, will feature The Appleseed Collective and Blank Range 6 p.m. in downtown Bristol. The event is free and open to the public.

Nashville – More than 100 concerts are now on sale for the Nashville Symphony.

Collierville – The make-up Muppets Most Wanted movie will take place at dusk at Central Park at Carriage Crossing. 

July 17-18

Spencer – Learn of the galaxies around us at Astronomy Weekend at Fall Creek Falls State Park.

July 17-Aug. 22

Clarksville – The musical classic The Music Man will be performed for audiences at the Roxy Regional Theatre.

July 18-19

Knoxville – Discover the Dinosaurs through animatronics and scenes that transport attendees to a different world at the Knoxville Convention Center.

July 19

Chattanooga – In all shapes and sizes, enjoy the Slider Smackdown as food trucks and eateries will offer sliders along with regular menu offerings at the Chattanooga Market.

Jonesborough – Main Street Brews and Tunes continues with music group South of Roan and beer from Wolf Hills Brewing Company 3 p.m. on Main Street in downtown Jonesborough.

July 19-25

Nashville – National Zoo Keeper Week will be celebrated with keeper talks, fan mail, and a Tools of the Trade presentation where staff will demonstrate snake hooks, hay and falconry gloves and more at the Nashville Zoo.

July 21

Jackson – Trail Night at the Ballpark will feature attraction representatives from the Discover Tennessee Trails and Byways initiative, sharing information and giving away prizes at The Ballpark at Jackson.

Cookeville - Join Peg Leg Porker’s Carey Bringle from BBQ Pitmasters TV show at Grillmaster Michael McDearman's downtown restaurant, 7 Senses Food & Cheer. Bringle will talk about his bourbon along with his unique story. Menu will offer special pairings including Pork Belly Tacos and Exclusive Peg Leg Bourbon Recipes.

July 23

Nashville – Science behind superhero powers and abilities will be explored during Way Late Play Date 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Adventure Science Center.

Elizabethton - Trail Night at the Ballpark will feature attraction representatives from the Discover Tennessee Trails and Byways initiative, sharing information and giving away prizes at Joe O’Brien Field.

July 23-26

Memphis – Memphis Bike Fest will feature a motorcycle parade down Beale Street, 7 tons of sand for a Memphis beach, music by American Idol winner Kris Allen, and a 50-team barbecue competition.

July 24-25

Union City – An evening of fun is in store during Riders and Rockabilly Music Festival & Fish Fry at Discovery Park of America.

July 25

Memphis – Kids can take a “cool” photo with characters from Frozen, build a snowman craft, wear their favorite Ice Princess costume and listen to a mini performance 9 a.m. to noon at The Children’s Museum of Memphis.

Spring City – Opera, operetta, Broadway and more will be performed during Divas and Gents 7:30 p.m. at Tennessee Valley Theatre. Tickets are $10.

Nashville – Learn the Bluegrass Basics 1 p.m. at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

Johnson City – Trilobite Treasures: Arthropods of the Ancient Seas will open with a reception noon to 2 p.m. at ETSU & GS Natural History Museum & Gray Fossil Site.

Memphis – National Dance Day will be celebrated as Ballet Memphis teaches dance which will be performed “flash-mob style” beginning 11:30 a.m. at Overton Square.

Nashville – Free sample classes with concentration in contemporary, musical theater, ballet, hip hop, and So You Think You Can Dance choreography will be offered by the Nashville Ballet as part of National Dance Day at The Martin Center for Nashville Ballet.

July 31

Woodbury – Five Nashville musicians come together to perform Beatles’ songs during Forever Abbey Road: Tribute to the Beatles at the Arts Center of Cannon County.
