  • Wednesday, July 1, 2015

Dalton Dunbar, senior telecommunicator at Whitfield 911, has been named Whitfield County’s Employee of the Month for May. He completed all three supervision training courses offered by the Georgia Public Safety Training Center and received several awards during Telecommunicator Appreciation Week.

According to the person who nominated him, Mr.

Dunbar “has taken on several responsibilities without being asked and has otherwise been very encouraging and supportive to our shift.”

He has been helping with training duties and has also volunteered to be part of the hiring process at the 911 Center. To help local residents get to know him better, Dunbar took a few minutes to fill out the following fun survey.

My role as a county employee: To ensure the citizens of Whitfield County receive the help they need in a courteous, professional and timely manner.

What gives me a sense of accomplishment on the job: When a citizen calls for help, and after, gives us all a thank you.

The most important thing I’ve done on the job: Being the first, first responder to a caller whose wife was choking. I provided Heimlich instructions, and the patient made it.

Who has had the most impact on my life:  My parents, who both have raised me to be a good person and a hard worker.

Personal goals I have accomplished or would like to accomplish: Finish college degree and continue a healthy lifestyle.

If I could have been in any profession of my choosing: Public safety

If I could have two wishes, they would be: To have Bill Gates-size bank account, and of course, unlimited wishes.

Anything else you’d like to say: Thanks to my co-workers for nominating me, and I enjoy working with you all!
