Emma Bernice Wade, 84, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Sunday morning, June 28, 2015 at the family residence.
She was born May 2, 1931 in Bradley County to the late Marshall and Martha Farris Taylor; and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Jo Swallows; and her brother, Joe Taylor.
Bernice loved to quilt, growing her flowers and gardening. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Edward Wade of Cleveland; her daughter, Ruth Ann Swallows and her husband Edward of Old Fort; her grandchildren, Rickey Swallows and his wife Paulette, Tommy Swallows, Joann Whitehead and her husband Don, Nathan Swallows, Tammy Varnell, Tim Swallows and Tina Swallows; 11 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Elizabeth Swallows of Cleveland; and her brothers, James Taylor of Cleveland and Johnny Taylor and his wife Beverly of Meigs County.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 30 in the Wildwood Ave Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Pastor Don Whitehead and Rev. Edward Swallows officiating.
The interment will be held Wednesday, July 1 at 10 a.m. in the Cofer cemetery in Meigs County.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 30 from 4-7 p.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
