SMSGT. James Milton Latham, Jr., of Sale Creek, was born into this life April 7, 1940, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  On Sunday, June 28, 2015 he went to be with the Lord and his parents, Ruth Carson and James M. Latham, Sr.

Mr. Latham honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for 30 years.  During that time he received numerous awards including the Presidential Meritorious Service Medal.

Mr. Latham is survived by his wife of 28 years,  Edna Latham;  daughter, Nikki  (Jeron) Couch; grandchildren, Braden James and Addison Jo, Couch; sisters, Carol L. (Bill) Davis of Chattanooga and Sheila A. Mortensen of Pensacola, FL; and several nieces and nephews.  

A celebration of life will be held at the graveside at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 2, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
