Work Set On Highway 153 Ramps Near Chickamauga Dam

  • Wednesday, June 3, 2015

As part of a region-wide safety improvement project, some areas in Hamilton County will be resurfaced using a skid-resistant surface treatment.

Weather permitting, the contractor will be working Wednesday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on SR-153 at the on- and off-ramps to/from North Access Road near the Chickamauga Dam. The contractor will begin with the ramps on SR-153 North followed by the ramps on SR-153 South. If the work does not get completed Wednesday night, it will continue Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

During the work the ramps will be temporarily closed. Detours using Hixson Pike, DuPont Parkway and Amnicola Highway will be marked. The Tennessee Highway Patrol will assist with traffic control during this work.

This work will be done weather permitting. Should inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances postpone this work, it will be rescheduled to take place at a later date.
