Rickey “Rick” Alan Powers, 55, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the family residence.
Rick was a 1977 graduate of Bradley Central High School. He was the owner and operator of Dalton Pike Salvage for over 30 years. He loved riding his motorcycle but most of all he loved spending time with the love of his life, his wife Phyllis! Rick loved the Lord and he was a member of the Samples Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Powers of Cleveland; his step-children, Brandon Warnock and his wife Angie of Stevenson, AL, Dustin Warnock and his wife Heather of Trenton, GA; his five grandchildren; his three great-grandchildren; his mother and father, Mary Williamson Powers and Julian Powers of Cleveland; his brother, Randy Powers and his wife Debra of Cleveland; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and church family members.
The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Sunday, June 28, at 4 p.m. from the Samples Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Cameron and Reverend Gene Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery with Rodney Johnson, Rodney Fairfield, Doyle Gray, Chris Norwood, Frank Jenkins and Ron Prater serving as casket bearers.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 850 Fortwood Street, Chattanooga, 37421.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday, June 28 at the Samples Memorial Baptist Church.
