Review for Amy LaVere:
Amy LaVere is a singer, songwriter, upright bass player and actress. Based out of Memphis, LaVere’s music is classified as Americana, combining a blend of classic country, gypsy jazz and a whole lot of southern soul. She has released three albums from a Memphis-based independent label, Archer Records, and she also has multiple acting credits in major motion pictures including that of the Oscar winning film, Walk the Line (2005).
LaVere’s most recent album, Runaway’s Diary, is a loose interpretation of her own life experiences. “I really did run away from home, if only for a few days, and parts of this song diary come from those honest emotions and true events," said LaVere. "But I wanted these songs to flow like good film, like my daydreams do, so I took a storyteller’s liberty here and there.” Her hope is that her collection of music will be an escape for listeners; a chance to run away and get lost in a good story. While her voice may have the high, breathy tone of a young girl, she brings to her music the emotional peaks and valleys of a grown woman who has certainly seen her fair share of the world.
Review for Mountain Creek House Fire:
Mountain Creek House Fire is a Chattanooga-based duo comprised of Pattee Wilbanks and Robert Lovett. Their music has roots in bluegrass, classic country and folk. Robert, a Texas-born singer/songwriter with an Americana style, has recorded two original solo CDs that are influenced by bluegrass and country blues. He comes to Chattanooga via Texas, Nashville and Knoxville, and has found his new home in the Scenic City. Pattee, who has been performing in Chattanooga since the mid-'80s in various folk and bluegrass bands, plays guitar, mandolin and clawhammer banjo and also sings. She writes beautifully personal songs with compelling melodies. The two have different, but complementary, writing styles that make this musical partnership shine.
Food trucks and non-alcoholic drink concessions are available on site. No outside food or beverages are allowed to be brought in to Nightfall.
