Nonprofit and community benefit organizations, schools, churches, and businesses are participating in a community festival to inform the residents of South Chattanooga and beyond about the resources each service provider offers. The festival will take place on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. at the Bethlehem Center, 200 W. 38th St.
Officials said, "The Bethlehem Center parking lot will be full with families from all over Chattanooga. As the smell of hot dogs and hamburgers lingers in the breeze, the sound of clippers will hum with the birds while children with painted faces enjoy free haircuts before playing field games and enjoying family-friendly musical entertainment.
Parents will walk from table to table asking questions and gathering information about direct service organizations while others receive health screenings.
"The 2nd annual South Chattanooga Empowerment Festival is creating a safe and fun place where adults all over the city can learn about resources throughout Chattanooga that empower them spiritually, economically, and educationally, while simultaneously enjoying a meal and good time with their family."
