Pappachan Mannankara, 89, of Chattanooga, Tennessee died on Thursday, April 30, 2015 while in his home.
He was a native of Mavelikara, Kerala, India but had lived in the Chattanooga area for many years as a member of Chattanooga Christian Assembly.
His wife Mariamma Pappachan, brother, M.D. George and sister, Annamma Thomas preceded him in death.
He is survived by four children, Daniel Mannankara of Chattanooga, Saramma Thomas of Bowie, MD, and John and Thomas Varghese of Kerala, India, two brothers, M.D. Daniel of India and Samuel Mannankara of Houston, TX, two sisters, Unnuniamma and Kunjumole of India, nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and others on Friday, May 8, from 5-6:30 p.m. at Chattanooga Christian Assembly with a memorial service beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 9, at 9:30 a.m. officiated by Pastor V.P. Abraham at Chattanooga Christian Assembly, 6032 Jenkins Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421. A burial service will immediately follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
