Grady Mitchell Kerley, 93, of Dunlap, Tennessee, died on Thursday, May 28, 2015.

Mr. Kerley was born Nov. 6, 1921, in Sequatchie County, son of the late Gaither William and Rosa Thurman Kerley. He was a member of the Dunlap Church of God and taught the Young Adults class for many years. He was a staff sergeant with the 81st Infantry Division of Wildcats. He served during World War II. He received three bronze stars for valor while fighting with the 81st Marine Division. Mr. Kerley retired from Wheland Foundry after 38 years. He loved hunting, fishing, and was an avid golfer.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Kerley; two sisters, Lillie Lewis and Nellie Swanger.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 72 years, Mary Rogers Kerley; daughter, Judith Kerley; two sons, Larry (Pat) Kerley and Jerry Kerley; three grandsons who he loved and was so proud, Adam Kerley, Jonathan (Kristen) Kerley and Stephen (Kristi) Kerley; 10 great-grandchildren, Emma, Maggie, Abigail, Hannah, Michael, Logan, Alyssa, Andrew, Daniel, Lucus; lots of golfing buddies, several nieces and nephews and many good friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 1, at 1 p.m. CDT in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Kenneth Bolton officiating. Burial will follow in Sequatchie County Memorial Gardens.
