Man Killed By Train At Sale Creek Was Larry Wayne Hester, 57

A man who was struck and killed by a train in North Hamilton County on Wednesday evening has been identified as 57-year-old Larry Wayne Hester.

The sheriff's office said, "Mr. Hester was last known to reside in the Bakewell community. He has friends in the Bakewell community who assisted us in the process of identification.  Attempts to locate Mr. Hester’s next of kin have been unsuccessful."

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. near North Hamilton Elementary School.

Authorities said the man was on the track when he was hit by a southbound train.
