Lloyd Congdon
Willard Lloyd Congdon, 72, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, May 27, 2015.
Lloyd was a bank executive with Community Trust and Banking Company for over 11 years. He was an alumnus of the University of Chattanooga and the School of Banking of the South at LSU, board member of many professional organizations including the Chattanooga Hamilton County Small Business Development Center, the American Institute of Banking, as well as a trustee of the Tennessee Consumer Lending School at Vanderbilt. Lloyd was a sergeant in the United States Army.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn (Rothwell) Congdon; mother, Hellen Lee Congdon; and aunt, Pauline E. Pettey.
Lloyd is survived by his daughter, Wendi (Bobby) Stott; sons, Michael and Brad (Holly) Congdon; sister, Carolyn Ann Stradley; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two nieces; one nephew; faithful loving and assistant caregiver, (Dog) Barney.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 30, from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday, May 31, from 1-2 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Bruce Galyon officiating.
Interment will follow in Chattanooga Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Chattanooga, particularly nurses, Cheryl Brewer, Debbie Havron, Debbie Turner, Donna Winters and Dr. Galina Rader for their exceptional care and service.
