The Apison community will be getting a new fire hall to replace a metal building at the old Apison Elementary School site.
The County Commission is expected to approve a resolution next Wednesday to accept the low bid of J&J Contractors for $2,833,700.
It is the Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department's Fire Hall #3.
There were five bidders.
The cost will be covered through the county bond program for capital projects.
Trustee Bill Hullander, who was on the commission when the project was started, said it will include a community room that will be used as a voting site.
The commission is also set to approve a traffic signal at Hixson Pike and Thrasher Pike.
Nabco Electric is doing the project for $150,566.
It was also announced that Trustee Hullander will begin collecting the sanitation fee for the city of Ridgeside.
The entire amount will be on the yearly property tax bill, but he said citizens can make partial payments.
