John Jadoobirsingh, of Ooltewah, born February 1, 1934, went to be with his Lord and savior on Wednesday, May 20, 2015. After a life of faithful service as a Church of God evangelist, he passed at the age of 81, after a lengthy battle with cancer. 

He was a long time member of Ooltewah Church of God. 

John was born in Maraval District Diego Martin Ward, Boissiere, Trinidad, West Indies, to the late Thomas and Sarah Jadoobirsingh.  He began preaching from the age of 16 and devoted his life to the Lord from then on.  He preached the word of the Lord with his life-long, best friends Sam Mathura and Jonathan Ramkissoon all throughout the West Indies, United States and abroad.  He was also one of the founding members of the Church of God in Trinidad, West Indies.  He authored a book entitled “What It Costs Jesus To Prove His Love To Us” and a booklet entitled “The Secret of Successful Witnessing” which were instrumental in his testimony in winning thousands of souls to Christ.  

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, William, Rebecca, Lillian, Doolin, Irene and also son-in-law, Ed Hayward.

Survivors include his siblings, Ena Pierre, David Jadoobirsingh, Benjamin Jadoobirsingh, Carmen Budhu and Marie (Bernie) Smith, Sheila Jadoobirsingh; his children, Annie (Bill) Hawkins, Judson (Cay) Jadoobirsingh, Patsy Hayward, Christian aka CJ (Lisa) Jadoobirsingh, Wayne (Karen) Jadoobirsingh, Adina (Jerry) Crawford, Bonnie, and 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, special friends, Bro Sam, Bro Ram and their families and Lilly and Clifford Forrest.   

The family will receive friends at the Ooltewah Church of God, 9320 Lee Highway, Ooltewah, Tn. 37363, from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, May 29

The viewing will be held Saturday, May 30, from 12-2 p.m., also at Ooltewah Church of God prior to the funeral service.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. with a graveside service to follow at Tyner Cemetery, at the intersection of Bonny Oaks and Hickory Valley Road, 2907 Hickory Valley Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.

The family would like to thank Pastor Edmond Stallings and the members of the church for all their help.  The family would also like to give special thanks to Bro Sam and Bro Ram and their families for their life-long love, friendship and prayers.
