Green, Betty Jo Howell (Dalton)

Betty Jo Howell Green, 85, of Dalton, Georgia, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was the daughter of the late Joe Frank Howell and Inez Campbell Howell; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Marvin L. Green in 2010; two infant sons, Stephen Lloyd and David Edward and infant daughter, Donna Elaine; sister, Mary Cooper; and brother, Sonny Howell.

Betty was a member of the Dalton First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Larry and Andrea Green of Dalton; daughters, Pam and Don Poteet, Teresa James, Renee and Steve Barton all of Dalton; sister, Pat Hite of Dalton; grandchildren, Jeff Green, Matt and Erika Green, Jason and Tara Poteet, Stephanie and Daniel Fossett, Chris and Amy James, Melissa and Josh Reed, Alisha and Josh Roberson and Rachel Barton; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

The family would like to say a special thank you to all the sitters and nurses that sat with Betty.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 27 at 11 a.m. at the Dalton First Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Cannon officiating. Burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 26 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Love Funeral Home, 1402 N. Thornton Ave, Dalton (across from Hamilton Medical Center) is in charge of arrangements.
