John L. Jackson, 52, of East Brainerd, died on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in a Nashville hospital, surrounded by his family.

He retired from Open Arms Care where he was the art teacher and was a member of City Church in Chattanooga.  His passions in life were his family and fine arts.

He was preceded in death by his father, Anderson Lee Jackson.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Crissie Jackson, son, Alex (Neita) Jackson, mother, Margie Jackson, grandson, Tyler Smith, brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Amanda Millians, mother-in-law, Carole Johnston, brother-in-law, James Williams and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 4, at 12:30 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Greeson officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Dexter Scudgins, Levi Scudgins, James Williams, Eric Millians, Timmy Taylor and Cody Justice.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour in the funeral home.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
