Ivy Academy Plans To Grow To 320 Students By 2024

Ivy Academy plans to grow to 320 students and have seven grade levels by 2024, according to a growth plan submitted to the county schools by the tuition-free charter school.

Angela Markum, executive director of Ivy Academy, said 320 students is the maximum number of students under the current charter.

The plan shows Ivy with grades 6-12 by 2021-2022.

Officials said Ivy plans to grow slowly, adding about 10 students per year. The current enrollment of the school, which focuses on environmental studies and healthy lifestyles, is 170.

The school is located at Soddy Daisy.

Officials said a licensed principal has been hired to oversee the development of a middle school that will go along with the current high school.

The school has a foundation aimed at generating funds for student programming.

Ivy officials said the current building will house the projected number of students through year six of the growth plan. In year three of the plan, the school plans to launch a capital campaign to provide for a new facility on the property next to the current school.
