May is National Bike Month 
The festivities begin this weekend with the 3State/3Mountain Challenge century ride and expo and Bike to the Ballpark at AT&T Field.

Introduction to Slacklining May 2
Outdoor Chattanooga invites the public to try slacklining on Sat., May 2, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at our facility, 200 River St. in Coolidge Park. The public will learn about the rules for attaching slacklines to trees and structures in public parks, then have a chance to try out low level slacklines in several spots throughout Coolidge and Renaissance Parks. No reservations or special equipment are necessary. Just check in at Outdoor Chattanooga, then go into the parks to play! For more information, email Outdoor Chattanooga or call (423) 643-6888.
*Bike to the Ballpark May 3 
Bike to the Ballpark on Sun., May 3 to watch the Chattanooga Lookouts take on the Jacksonville suns at 2:15. Join a group ride from Outdoor Chattanooga or Finley Stadium, enjoy free, secure bicycle parking, provided by Bike/Walk Chattanooga, log your GreenTrips for a chance to throw out the first pitch at a Lookouts Game this weekend, and watch Louie and Louise Lookout try their legs on a Bike Chattanooga bicycle during the game.

Rapid Learning Moves to Chester Frost Park on Wed., May 6!

The Rapid Learning Whitewater Kayaking Program will move outdoors to Chester Frost County Park on Wed., May 6, with two sessions: 6 and 7 p.m., just past the park swimming area. Interested members of the public can come to either session and try the program for free. If you decide to continue, you can join the program and access equipment and instruction all year round. *Youth Triathlon 101 May 7
The Chattanooga Triathlon Club will host a free, family workshop on how to get kids involved with the sport of triathlon on Thurs., May 7, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Outdoor Chattanooga, 200 River St. in Coolidge Park. Find out how triathlon's operate, equipment needs, training, where to find local races and more. Space is limited and reservations are recommended. To make a reservation, email the Chattanooga Triathlon Club.
*Bike-Hike Moccasin Bend 
with the National Park Service May 9
Join Outdoor Chattanooga and Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park for a leisurely bicycle and walking tour of historic Moccasin Bend on Sat., May 9, 9:30 a.m., beginning from the future home of the Moccasin Bend visitors center on Hamm Rd. The free tour will begin with a group bicycle tour to the tip of the peninsula, followed by a short walk to the TN River along the Old Federal Rd. trail. The ride is appropriate for adults and kids ages 12 and older when accompanied by an adult. Helmets are required. Walking Tour of Snodgrass Hill and Horseshoe Ridge May 2
Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will host a free, interpretive walking tour of the Snodgrass Hill/Horseshoe Ridge area of Chickamauga Battlefield on Sat., May 2 at 9:30 a.m. The two hour, two mile tour will begin at the Battlefield Visitors Center and then caravan to the walk location. Interpretive rangers will offer tales of decisive actions on the ridge during the Battle of Chickamauga. Wear sturdy walking shoes, wear clothes appropriate for the weather and bring water. Castle Rock Celebration at the Crash Pad this Thurs., Apr. 30
The TN River Gorge Trust and a slew of conservation partners will celebrate the preservation of 30 acres of the Castle Rock climbing area with the Castle Rock Bash,happening at the Crash Pad on Thurs., Apr. 30, from 6-9 p.m. Music, beer, climbers and conservationists. What could be better?
*Another Gorgeous Evening with the TN River Gorge Trust May 7
The TN River Gorge Trust will host their annual fundraiser, Another Gorgeous Evening, on Thurs., May 7 at the TN River Place. The event supports TRGT's programs to preserve and protect the habitats and wildlife of Tennessee's Grand Canyon. To learn more, call TRGT at (423) 266-0314.
