CLEVELAND, Tenn. – East Hamilton, riding a two-homer effort by Alyssa Strickler, scored 12 runs in the first three innings and cruised to a 17-7 shellacking of Bradley Central in District 5-AAA softball action Monday.
Strickler went 4-for-5 and homered in the third and seventh innings to lead the Lady Hurricanes’ overpowering 23-hit attack. Strickler had four RBIs and scored twice.
Maggie Woods’ two-run single highlighted East Hamilton’s five-run first inning.
Savannah Daniel and Samantha Murray had RBI singles and Tori Barnes drove in a run with a groundout in the Lady Hurricanes’ quick start.
In the three-run second inning, Barnes singled to drive in a run, Brie Levy added an RBI double.
Strickler homered in the third, Barnes added a run-scoring single, Brie Levy’s double pushed another run across and Levy had a run-scoring triple.
Strickler’s second home run and Miracle Gorman’s RBI single led the Lady Hurricane’s four-run seventh inning.
Six East Hamilton players combined for 18 hits, 13 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
