Violet Annalee Carpenter, 78, of East Ridge, died on Sunday, April 26, 2015 surrounded by her family. A woman of great faith, Violet physically smiled as she went to be with her loved ones gone before.

She was preceded in death her husband, Ralph Carpenter, Jr. Her last words were she was going home to be with Ralph. 

Also preceding her in death were her parents, Gordon and Minnie Aslinger, brothers, Raymond,  Leland, Drew, J. C., and infant brother, Philip Paul Aslinger, sisters, Mavis and Sylvia.

Survivors include her sons, Kenneth Jonte, Fred (Mindy) Carpenter and Rocco (Kelly) Carpenter, grandchildren, James, Robert, Willie, and A. J. Jonte, Katlyn, Madison, and Jake Holcomb, Chase, Landon, Tanner, Parker, Hailey, and Jessica Carpenter, sister, Vivian Haynes and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 28, at 1:30 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Reverend Jim Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at the Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 27, from 4-8 p.m. in the funeral home.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
