Saturday’s Clean And Green Canceled

  • Friday, April 24, 2015

Saturday’s Clean and Green event has been canceled due to inclement weather.  With over 1,000 people signed up for the event, River City Company is working with partners and supporters to reschedule Downtown Chattanooga’s annual cleanup event later in the year.

With many UTC volunteers, the rescheduled event will take place in late summer or early fall once students return to class. River City Company will announce the rescheduled date shortly.

The canceled event was scheduled for Saturday from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. starting in Miller Plaza, 850 Market St.

Clean and Green is Downtown Chattanooga’s annual cleanup event. Since 2011, Clean and Green has enlisted over 2,950 volunteers, collected over 5,600 bags of trash and recyclables, and completed many special projects like playground restorations and community gardens. This River City Company program sponsored by Volkswagen Chattanooga and the Downtown Rotary and Rotaract Club is made possible with partners like Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise, SERVPRO of Chattanooga, Custom Werks Graphics and the city of Chattanooga.
