Barge Waggoner Sumner And Cannon Elects 2015 Board Of Directors

Carrie Stokes And John Smith Added To Firm’s Board Of Directors

Barge Waggoner Sumner and Cannon, Inc., elected its 2015 Board of Directors during the 2015 Annual Stockholders’ Meeting on April 18. Carrie Stokes and John Smith were both added to this year’s Board. 

As Director of the Environment & Water Resources business unit, Stokes is responsible for the development of growth strategies and business opportunities within the energy, water resources and environmental sectors. Stokes, a Project Management Professional, joined the firm in 1997 and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Tennessee.

She holds both a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering from Vanderbilt University. Stokes is also an active member in the community, most recently serving on the Board of Directors for the Junior League of Nashville.
Smith serves as the Birmingham Office Manager and has been with Barge Waggoner for 11 years. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Auburn University in Civil Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Smith holds professional registrations in three states. He is a member of Economic Development Association of Alabama and American Council of Engineering Companies of Alabama.
Both individuals were previously vice presidents. Stokes and Smith join seven Board members who were re-elected during this year’s Annual Stockholders’ Meeting.
