Mary Ellen Deering, 90, of Cloudland, Georgia, died on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at the Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Deering was born July 18, 1924, in LaFayette, GA, daughter of the late Amos Garrett and Annie Dunn Greene. She was a member of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon William Deering; a son, Gordon William Deering, Jr.; brothers, George Edward Greene, Amos Jerry Greene, and Johnny Greene
Mrs. Deering is survived by her son and daughters-in-law, Paul Thomas and Mandie Deering, Opal Lee Deering; a sister, Betty Elizabeth Holbrook; grandchildren, Christie Lee Dooley and Matt Dooley, Kerrington Wagner, Dilan Deering, and Andria Deering; great-grandchildren, Kevin Dooley and Nathan Dooley; and several nieces and nephews
Funeral services for Mrs. Deering will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 24, at the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jack Green officiating. Interment will follow in the Cloudland Presbyterian Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Anthony John Holbrook, Kirby Smith, Matt Dooley, Kevin Dooley, Nathan Dooley, and Dilan Deering.
Mrs. Deering will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 23.
