Michael S. Goode
Stites & Harbison, PLLC welcomes attorney Michael S. Goode to the Nashville office. Mr. Goode is counsel to the firm and a member of the Business and Finance and the Trusts and Estate Planning Service Groups.
Mr. Goode primarily practices in the areas of tax, business and estate planning. He has resolved tax and estate planning issues for clients in both Tennessee and Georgia, as well as international clients. He has represented individuals, businesses and governmental entities in taxation and business planning matters. He wrote new pension legislation for a school district pension plan that was successfully enacted into law in Georgia. He has spoken to various organizations such as the Chattanooga Tax Practitioners and the Atlanta International Tax Study Group.
Mr. Goode received his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law and his J.D. from William and Mary School of Law. Prior to joining Stites & Harbison, Mr. Goode was a partner at a boutique trusts and estate planning law firm located in the Atlanta area.
Mr. Goode is active in the Chattanooga community. He is the chair of the Chattanooga Succession Planning Professionals group, and he has spoken to the Chattanooga Estate Planning Council and the Chattanooga Tax Practitioners. He was also on the board of the British American Business Group Chattanooga Chapter.
