Jo Anne Parrott Lyons, Ringgold, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, April 21, 2015.
Jo Anne was a native of Dalton. She was a graduate of Dalton High School, and attended Edmondson Business School in Chattanooga. She and her family relocated to Ringgold in 1965. She retired from the Georgia Visitor Center in 2001, after serving as manager for 36 years.
Jo Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Mark and Edith Parrott; her beloved daughter, Kaye Hullender, and special cousin, Fran Stuman.
She is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Anna (Bentz) Lyons, son-in-law, Clarence Hullender, step-grandchildren, LaDora (Hullender) McGinnis, Ryan Hague, and Amanda (Danny) Langston; step-great-grandson, Connor McGinnis, step-great-grandson, Liam Langston and special cousin, Betty Ridley, and numerous other relatives. She also leaves to cherish her memory, many very special friends.
Per Jo Anne’s request, she will be cremated.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37416.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt appreciation to the caring nurses and staff at Parkridge Hospital (3rd and 4th floor), and Hospice of Chattanooga.
Also, at Jo Anne’s request the family will have a casual visitation on Saturday, April 25, from 2-6 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
The service will be held at a later date and will be private.
