On Thursday, April 23 Renaissance Red Bank will hold its first board of directors meeting at 6 p.m.
Officials said, "As the interest in one of Chattanooga’s first bedroom communities is beginning to grow like the spring grass, a new non-profit community development corporation is being formed
to help steer the growth. The idea is not a new one, Chattanooga’s River City Company is renowned for its work in the downtown area. More recently the town of Collegedale formed a similar group."
“This will not be like past Red Bank efforts”, says Mike Congdon one of the group organizers. “In the past, there have been studies done and published, but little action was taken. The one thing that each and every one of the people on this board told me was they were not in this just to meet and talk, they wanted results. It’s time for results.”
Officials said, "Recent zoning changes in the city should make the process more inviting to residential and commercial developers. Local officials are backing the group, with some serving on a non-voting advisory board. Add to that Red Bank’s proximity to the North Shore and Downtown Chattanooga and families looking for a value in where to live work and play can’t miss.
"There is a quote that says, never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has. That is exactly what is happening in Red
Bank, Tn."
