Reverend Winifred Eugene "Gene" EarlySr., 76, of Rossville, Georgia, died on April 17, 2015.

He was born in Chattanooga, and was a lifelong resident of the Northwest Georgia and Chattanooga area. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Gene was a skilled carpenter and could work on just about anything. He was the former owner of GE Service Company and had worked Days Inn as well as several other companies. He was currently working for Goodwill as the Chattanooga area maintenance supervisor. Gene was an ordained minister, a former member of Mariah Baptist Church in Fort Oglethorpe, and a current member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Fairview, GA. Gene enjoyed fishing, medal detecting for Civil War relics and woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Hobert Kilgore.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Willie Faye Lynn Early; mother, Gertrude Early Kilgore both of Rossville; sons and daughters-in-law, Gino and Denise Early of Chickamauga, Eric Lynn and Jackie Early of Rossville; sisters, Peggy Kerley of Rossville, Betty Carbine of East Ridge; brothers, J.R. Kilgore of Chattanooga, Ernest Kilgore, Dennis Kilgore, both of Rossville; grandchildren, Amber Lynn (Tyler) Whittenburg, Heather Nicole Early, Eric William Early, Maria Early, D.J. Sneed, Jr., Toni McAllister; great grandchildren, Justin McKenzie, Kobe McAllister, Ashley McAllister, several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3–9 p.m. on Sunday, all day Monday, and Tuesday morning prior to the service.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, in the funeral home chapel with Pastors Randy Lynn and Jon Underwood officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga Veterans National Cemetery – Chattanooga.

Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Homes- Fort Oglethorpe.
