Maudie Irene Duckworth, 88, of Dalton, GA, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
Irene was born December 10, 1926 in Dalton, to the late John & Daisy Pierce Kile. She attended Maple Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover General Duckworth, Sr.; brother, Alfred Kile; and brother-in-law, David Robinson.
She is survived by her 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth & Freeman Holloway, Barbara & Larry Morgan, Sue & Monty Garner and Angela Marie Duckworth, all of Dalton; sons & daughter-in-law, Grover & Shirley Duckworth, Jr. and John Duckworth, all of Dalton; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 16½ great-great-grandchildren; sister, Zelma Robinson of Beaver Creek, OH; sister-in-law, Lucille “Polly” Kile of Hiawassee, GA; nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 18, at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel with Rev. Larry Morgan, Rev. Landon Brooks and Rev. Tony Robertson officiating. Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be: Wayne Holloway, Shane Holloway, Tanner Holloway, Larry Chasteen, Labron Swinney and Blake Duckworth; serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Carl Holloway, Jacob Holloway, Jason Holloway, Riley Holcomb, Branden Pewitt and Terry Duckworth.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, April 17 from 5-9 p.m.
