Jon Foreman will perform the final U-Church concert of the semester on Sunday, April 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center.

Review for Joe Foreman:

In April 2009, Foreman was nominated for a Dove award for Male Vocalist of the Year. A singer-songwriter and guitarist, Foreman is best known for being the main songwriter, co-founder, and front man of the alternative rock band Switchfoot. He has also worked with numerous other artists on various projects and has four independent recordings of his own:  “Fall,” “Winter,” “Spring,” and “Summer.” In November 2014, Foreman announced four additional independent recordings to be released this year: “Sunlight,” “Shadows,” “Darkness,” and “Dawn.” His newest solo project, “The Wonderlands,” will feature 24 songs, one for each hour of the day.

Over the years, Foreman has become known for his honest lyrics, highly prolific song-writing, and his involvement in various humanitarian endeavors. His organizational affiliations include Habitat for Humanity, The ONE Campaign, Not For Sale, Invisible Children, Life Rolls On, and To Write Love On Her Arms, in addition to Switchfoot’s annual Bro-Am Tournament, a surfing event that raises money and awareness for homeless and at-risk youth. One of Foreman's favorite pastimes is surfing, and when not on tour, he resides in Cardiff by the Sea, a small suburb of San Diego, California.

“Every moment is infinitely complex, wrought with context and color, smell and taste, the fears and hopes of perspective that cannot be captured by a microphone and a camera alone…. Music is time travel: to experience it you actually travel through time with the art itself,” said Foreman in a recent HuffPost article. “You and the musician are different people when you finish than when you began.”

U-Church is a free, non-ticketed event for students, alumni and the community. Seating is first- come, first-served. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
