Raymond Douglas BurnetteSr., 64, of Rossville, died on Monday, March 30, 2015.

He had lived in the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas most of his life and was of the Christian faith. He was a Marine Corp Veteran having served during the Vietnam War and was previously employed with Profab Inc. as a welder for more than 23 years. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Burnette; mother, Bessie Boyd; son, Raymond Douglas Burnette, Jr. and brother, Paul Ray Burnette

Survivors include his loving wife of more than 38 years, Jere Burnette; children, Chrissy Burnette and Jeremy Ray Burnette all of Rossville; brother, Tommy AllenBurnette of Rossville, GA; sister, Linda Faye Burnette of Fort Oglethorpe; six grandchildren, Shannon, Shelby, Mya, Shea, Haven and Jeremy and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 3, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends after 3 p.m. Thursday and prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wilson Funeral Home in memory of Mr. Burnette.
