Arts Pass Gives Patrons The Opportunity To Sample Events In April

  • Friday, March 6, 2015

The 2015 Arts Pass provides the opportunity to sample four major arts and cultural events that take place during the month of April in Chattanooga. For $10, anyone who purchases an Arts Pass will receive discounts off events at the Chattanooga Film Festival, 4 Bridges Arts Festival, the Celebration of Southern Literature, and Jazzanooga.

“The Arts Pass acts as a ‘sampler’ for people who may have attended one of these events in the past. It opens the door for people to go to the other events as well, without having to purchase a full-price ticket,” said Dan Bowers, president of ArtsBuild.

“The idea is to cross-pollinate the events with a more diverse audience.”

All of the events take place in April, beginning with the Chattanooga Film Festival April 2-5. "The Chattanooga Film Festival is honored to be a part of this Arts Pass opportunity alongside such well-established and integral arts festivals,” said Brian Hennen, CFF Shorts programmer. “As a fledgling festival it warms our cinephile hearts to be able to contribute to the richly diverse Chattanooga arts scene."

The Association for Visual Arts hosts the 15th annual 4 Bridges Arts Festival April 11-12 at the Tennessee Pavilion. The spring festival draws thousands of arts lovers from around the country each year. “The Arts Pass is a terrific opportunity for someone new to the area or new to the arts in Chattanooga--these are signature events offered at a substantial discount,” said Anne Willson, executive director of AVA. “We're thrilled to be part of the Arts Pass.”

The Southern Lit Alliance presents its 18th Celebration of Southern Literature April 16-19. Susan Robinson, executive director of the Southern Lit Alliance that presents the biennial event, hopes to draw a younger audience of readers to the Celebration through the Arts Pass. “The CSL continues its amazing legacy by attracting an audience of readers who come to hear and interact with their favorite Southern writers and to discover new ones, too,” said Ms. Robinson.  “The Arts Pass creates a wonderful opportunity for Chattanoogans who enjoy reading to experience a unique and one-of-its-kind literary event, but to also experience cutting edge films, Grammy-winning jazz musicians and superb visual artists.”

The bookend event for the Arts Pass is Jazzanooga which takes place throughout the month of April. Created in 2011 as a citywide celebration of jazz, Jazzanooga is a community initiative that provides a platform where diverse communities can gather and celebrate Chattanooga’s jazz heritage. Jazzanooga is offering Arts Pass holders the opportunity to attend its VIP concert at no charge. “Jazzanooga is always excited to partner with other arts organizations to grow the audience of Chattanooga jazz lovers,” said Shane Morrow, director of Jazzanooga. “We are pleased to be part of this initiative and hope to see it continue expand in the future.”

The 2015 Arts Pass can be purchased now throughout the month of April online at www.artspasschatt.com or by calling 423-756-2787.
