The Chattanooga Zoo presents its 2015 Spring Break Camp, March 30-April 3.
Officials said, "For grades K-5th, this exciting week-long camp is designed to engage and excite the animal enthusiast in your family. Campers will go “Backyard and Beyond” to discover what is in your backyard and beyond the hills of Tennessee with Spring Break Camp at the Chattanooga Zoo."
Campers, grades K-2nd, will transform into “Nature Seekers” as they learn what wildlife they can track in their own backyards and around the world. Nature seekers will study animal behavior through many different programs and activities using ethograms, observations, and one of a kind animal encounters. Older zoo campers, grades 3rd-5th, will become “Eco-Explorers” has they participate in thezZoo’s hybrid camp with the Nature Center. Eco-Explorers will travel to Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center to discover what wildlife and habitats live in the backyard of Tennessee and will venture into the beyond with wildlife found from near and far at the Chattanooga Zoo.
“All of us at the zoo are looking forward to spring’s warmer weather and the excitement of spring break campers,” said Darde Long, Chattanooga Zoo CEO and president. “Spring Break camp is a great opportunity for kids to get out of the house and emerge into nature, while learning about the wildlife around them through fun and educational activities.”
Spring Break camp will take place March 30 through April 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Spring Break Camp costs $120 for zoo members and $140 for non-members for grades K-2nd, and $200 for zoo members and $225 for non-members for grades 3rd-5th.
