The Covenant men's golf team improved by 22 strokes in the final round and finished ninth at the Wynlakes Intercollegiate hosted by Huntingdon. The tournament was the second this spring for the Scots, but the first since mid-February.
Fellow USA South member LaGrange took the team title and had the medalist in Cory Howard who finished 5-under par with a two-day score of 139. The field included several teams ranked in the top 50 in Division III.
Covenant shot a 319 as a team in the final round.
Alan Craig posted a day two score of 74 and finished in a tie for 32nd with a total of 158.
Jeron Pasma also had a strong final round as he carded a 79. Scott McKnight led Covenant with an 82 in round one and improved by two shots on Tuesday with an 80 to place 43rd overall. Nick Blauw also posted an 82 in round one and finished in a tie for 49th.
Covenant will be at the Emory Spring Invitational on April 6-7.
