Pace, FL – The Dalton States women’s golf team got off to a slower than hoped for start Monday in the Lady Argonaut Invitational, hosted by the University of West Florida at Stonebrook Country Club.
Playing against a field made up of mostly established NCAA Division I and Division II schools, the Lady Roadrunners finished the first day in ninth place out of 13 teams.
Florida Southern leads through the first 36 holes (307-312 = 619).
The Lady Mocs’ Emily Rymer had the day’s low individual round with a 72 and finished the day tied for first with West Georgia’s Lola Uribe Astolfi.
Limestone College is two strokes back (310-311 = 621). West Georgia (312-310 = 622) and Florida Tech (310-312 = 622) are tied for third. West Florida (314-320 = 634) is fifth. Lee University is sixth (317-331 = 648), the University of West Alabama is seventh (329- 327 = 658) followed by Armstrong State (328-329 = 657). Dalton State started the tournament with a 337, but shot 15 strokes better in the second round to finish the day with a 659.
Tennessee’s Union University is 10th (349-354 = 703), Emmanuel College (GA) is 11th (353-354 = 707), Spring Hill College from Mobile is 12th (397-382 = 779) and Ohio Valley University from West Virginia (403-391 = 794) trails the pack..
