Hixson Kiwanis Club Hears Of Mentoring Program At High Schools

Patrick Hampton of Goodwill of Chattanooga discussed a mentoring program at area high schools in a speech to the Hixson Kiwanis Club.

The club meets 3 at Creeks Bend Golf Club.

The club also discussed the upcoming Somparac Award which is presented annually to a person who has served the Hixson community.  The award is named in honor of longtime Hixson Kiwanian, the late Howard Somparac. 

Nominations for this year’s award, which will be presented at the club’s Charter Night celebration on April 21, are being taken from the community now. 

Nominations should contain a bio and a short paragraph detailing the nominee's contributions in the Hixson area and can be given to any club member or mailed to the Hixson Kiwanis Club,  P.O. Box 36,  Hixson, Tn 37343 by April 1.
