Baylor's Lucas Baker scored what proved to be the winning goal in the 57th minute to lead the Red Raiders to a 4-1 D-II Middle/East Region win against visiting Ensworth Friday.
Baylor opened the scoring in the 10th minute when George Pettway shot from about 16 yards out and buried it in the bottom left corner off an assist from Austin Maize.
In the 39th minute, Ensworth received a penalty kick for a foul in the box. Mack Smith (Ensworth) scored to tie the game at 1-1 at the half.
In the 57th minute, Baylor's Lucas Baker scored off a ball in the box from an assist from Victor Ulmo to give them a 2-1 lead
.
At the 73 minute, Austin Maize scored off an assist from Lucas Baker to put Baylor up 3-1.
At the 76th minute, Kyle Johnston closed out the scoring with a direct free kick about 25 yards out.
"Give Ensworth alot of credit," Baylor head coach Curtis Blair said. "They got numbers behind the ball and made it difficult for us. Spring Break came at a great time as we are starting to get some players banged up and need some rest. When we come back we have some big games."
