The Business Advisory Council for Lee University’s Department of Business held its annual meeting on Lee’s campus.
Forty-two BAC members, faculty, students and special guests were present. The first evening, the department gave an update of ongoing activities and achievements to the council. On the next day, 26 BAC members and faculty conducted mock interviews with 29 Lee business majors to give practical experience and feedback to the students.
“This year’s meeting was different from previous years,” said Dr. Dewayne Thompson, chair of the Department of Business. “We wanted our students to interact with business professionals and practice interviewing, and many students indicated that the event was beneficial and put them at ease for the impending job search. Our BAC members diligently participated in the exercise and created a ‘real-world’ opportunity for our students.”
This is the 29th year of the council, which exists to advise and inform Lee’s Department of Business in matters of curriculum, strategic planning, and program development. Although the council primarily consists of senior-level managers and business owners, there are also members representing universities and consulting firms.
