Children and adults of all ages participated in a 5k and one mile Family Fun Run/Walk at the McKenzie Arena, hosted by the UTC Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. All proceeds from the event went to support families at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga.

Their goal was to have 400 people pre-register, which they surpassed. Altogether, ADPi raised $12,560 to benefit RMHC of Greater Chattanooga.

This year’s Run for Ronald 5k raised the most it has ever raised before and has provided 228 nights for families at the Ronald McDonald House. It costs the Ronald McDonald House $55 per night for a family to stay there. Families are asked to make a $10 donation to help offset a portion of the expenses; however, 70 percent of the families are unable to afford the nominal contribution. No family is ever turned away for their inability to make the requested donation.  The average family stay is two weeks.
